Help shape equitable societies.

Sociology is the study of social life, social change and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. Sociologists investigate the structure of groups, organizations and societies and how people interact within these contexts.

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Sociology - Social Inequalities degree program at App State examines how differences in dimensions such as gender, race, ethnicity, social class, sexuality, age and nationality may lead to unequal outcomes in terms of power, status and income.

In this program, you will learn to understand human diversity in preparation for positions in personnel and human resource management, social service or government agencies, and employment with nonprofit and community organizations.
