Sociology is the study of social life, social change and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. Sociologists investigate the structure of groups, organizations and societies and how people interact within these contexts.
The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Sociology - Families and Intimate Relationships degree program at App State focuses on family as a primary institution in our lives — affecting well-being, socialization, the transmission of rights and obligations, and the conferral of advantages and disadvantages.
You will explore a range of family experiences in order to understand the causes and consequences of social, political and economic change for family life and how these changes impact the status of contemporary families.
