App State’s Bachelor of Science (BS) in Career and Technical Education - Family and Consumer Sciences Education develops professional career and technical educators like yourself who foster the development of students by preparing them for a high-performance workforce that is in constant transition.

In this program, which is the only one of its kind in North Carolina, you will gain the skills you need to to organize content, create a positive learning environment, exercise appropriate teaching methods and continue to reflect and develop professionally.

Applied learning is a big part of what our future teachers do at App State. All of our teacher education degrees have classroom experience built into them, equipping you with the relevant skills and experience to make you ready to enter the classroom prepared to enlighten, educate and inspire. Our teacher education programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

In addition to being available at the Boone and Hickory campuses, App State’s CTE degree is offered fully online. Learn more
