The Bachelor Science (BS) in Child Development - Child and Family Science (non-licensure) degree program at App State provides the foundational knowledge necessary to understand the intricacies of child development and family experiences.
Through specialized coursework, focused career tracks and field experiences, this program provides you with a comprehensive, hands-on education that blends academic knowledge with real-world application. Whether your passion lies in direct service, program development or policy advocacy, this program will prepare you to embark on a fulfilling career dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those you serve.
Program courses cover child development from prenatal stages through adolescence, providing a deep understanding of the physical, emotional, social and cognitive growth at each stage of a child’s life. In addition, you will engage in courses focused on family studies, which offer valuable insights into family dynamics, relationships and the environmental factors that shape family structures and functioning.
