Learn about transferring credits to App State
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Studio Art - Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design degree program at App State offers a rigorous, practice-based curriculum designed to provide you with a comprehensive foundation in metalworking techniques.
As a Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design student, you will focus on the highest standards of quality, craft and conceptual practice through the development and fabrication of wearable art, functional objects and metal sculpture.
The comprehensive Metals Studio and the Digital Craft Research Lab will provide you with access to a dedicated workspace and prepare you to contribute meaningfully to the contemporary art and design landscape. All intended BFA Studio Art majors must submit portfolios for review to be formally admitted into the program.
The program features such professional development opportunities as an annual jewelry sale and a visiting artist program and culminates in the Senior Exhibition — a capstone exhibit that involves collaboration between faculty and students with critiques along the way.
