Improve community well-being.

Communities and regions face complex challenges as they work toward improving living standards and well-being. Economists play a critical role in community and regional development by informing the decisions of government and nongovernment agencies.

App State’s Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics - Regional Economic Development degree program will equip you with the expertise to help solve the issues faced by communities and regions as they define their directions and chart a course toward a better future.

You’ll gain expertise exploring topics that include rural job creation, labor markets, growth-agriculture conflicts and land-use management.

If you’re wanting to contribute to community revitalization or help communities prosper, you will find what they’re looking for in App State’s Regional Economic Development major. You will be prepared for jobs in state and federal governments or nongovernmental organizations that work on regional, community and rural issues.

As a Walker College of Business student, you’ll have access to Business Careers Services, where you can build career skills through professional and leadership development training. This resource provides career coaching, resume reviews, coursework, events, networking opportunities and more.

App State’s Walker College of Business is accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. This distinction is held by fewer than 6% of all business schools.
