A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematics - Secondary Education degree from App State will prepare you to lead a K–12 math classroom. After studying mathematics through the lens of an educator, you will have the opportunity to inspire others and open their eyes to the world of mathematics.

App State has one of the largest groups of faculty with degrees in Mathematics Education in any mathematics department in the United States, and the program produces the most high school math teachers in North Carolina.

Applied learning is a big part of what our future teachers do at App State. All of our teacher education degrees have classroom experience built into them, equipping you with the relevant skills and experience to make you ready to enter the classroom prepared to enlighten, educate and inspire. Our teacher education programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
