Develop mathematical solutions to scientific issues.

If you foresee science or health-related fields in your future, consider earning your Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematics - Life Sciences degree at App State.

Mathematics and statistics play a critical role in our efforts to understand the nature of the physical universe and in the continuing development of our technological society. You will gain skills related to abstract thinking and critical reasoning through courses across a variety of mathematical disciplines.

You’ll add a concentration area to this degree, and this dual immersion will enable you to apply mathematical concepts to studies in different areas, such as biological sciences. Undergraduates develop diversified knowledge and skills required for environmental fieldwork, scientific research or graduate/professional studies in medicine.

Mathematicians and statisticians are in demand in all sectors of society, including government, business, education and medical fields. What’s more, fields related to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) are projected to experience much faster job growth than non-STEM fields, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
