If you have a lifelong love of literature and reading, you might consider pursuing the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English - Literary Studies degree program at App State. You’ll focus on in-depth study, emphasizing close reading, writing, communication and critical thinking as the tools needed for future success.
In the Literary Studies program, students hone their skills as writers and editors while considering works of literature — novels, poems, essays, plays, memoirs, epics, mysteries and more — from the standpoints of craft, history, psychology, textual analysis, politics, technology and cultural studies.
Literary Studies majors engage in analytical and critical readings of literature and develop methods for arguing and supporting a specific point of view, with the guidance of award-winning faculty who are distinguished in their fields.
