App State’s Bachelor of Science (BS) in Political Science - American Politics degree program prepares you to work effectively and to productively engage in politics.

In the American Politics concentration, you will have the opportunity to learn from faculty who specialize in electoral behavior, political institutions, public administration and judicial behavior.

You’ll get a foundation in parties and elections, American institutions and political behavior. In addition, App State’s Department of Government and Justice Studies offers a variety of study away courses that allow students to earn course credits while engaging in real-world politics.

Political science majors gain a versatile set of analytical and organizational skills that can serve as a springboard to a wide range of exciting careers in government, law, business, international organizations, nonprofit organizations, survey research, journalism and teaching.
