Empower and inspire as a health care leader.

Are you interested in improving health outcomes through administration, education or research? The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health Sciences at App State is your pathway to careers in health care administration, medical or pharmaceutical sales, and other health-related services.

App State’s interdisciplinary Health Sciences program is designed for individuals who have earned an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree from a North Carolina community college, and allows you to complete your bachelor’s degree in as little as two years. Review Transfer Admission Requirements.

The program provides the foundation, knowledge and skills needed to enter a variety of allied health fields, apply for graduate school or teach in community colleges. You will learn to develop, manage, lead and evaluate health initiatives aimed at promoting the adoption and maintenance of healthy behaviors. The program also offers elective hours that provide you an opportunity to individualize the curriculum to meet your specific career goals and requirements.

Health care leaders and instructors are critical in meeting the health and wellness needs of our region and beyond. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the number of available positions increasing by 28% over the next decade — much faster than the average for all professions.
