Take a data-driven approach to exploring Earth’s changing environment.

Gain the data-driven insights needed to help solve complex environmental issues by pursuing the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Science - Quantitative Environmental Science at App State. This degree is ideal for students who are interested in the mathematical side of environmental science.

This is a science-intensive, cross-disciplinary experience that develops a strong background in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, statistics, geosciences and geographic information systems (GIS).

Through the program, you will acquire the knowledge and technical skills needed to succeed when pursuing graduate study or careers in highly technical fields, such as hydrogeology, remote sensing and geospatial data analysis, and atmospheric science. Those who are interested in meteorology would be best served by this program of study.

While an App State student, you’ll have domestic and international opportunities to go into the field to better understand pressing local and international environmental problems, equipping you with the hands-on skills needed to go directly into the workforce and solve these issues.

App State offers the largest undergraduate geosciences department in the University of North Carolina System. Approximately 94% of our graduates are employed in some field within the geosciences and environmental sciences.
