Build your future — a dynamic career in construction.

Today, there are many ways to build a successful construction career. Becoming a manager will require you to take on more complex responsibilities.

App State’s Bachelor of Science (BS) in Building Sciences - Construction Management puts you in a position to lead a variety of construction projects, in sectors ranging from residential and commercial, to military and industrial.

Being a construction manager requires significant coordination and planning, and the ability to think critically and synthetically. As a student, you will take courses in building systems, materials and methods of construction, planning and scheduling, cost estimating, statics and strength of structures, surveying, project management, building codes, occupational safety and sustainable architectural design. The program’s interdisciplinary approach to design and construction gives students the best possible exposure to the various tools needed to become a leader in the construction industry.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts 5% job growth in the construction management industry over the next decade.

“App State’s Construction Management program truly provided the knowledge, skills and experiences that continue to drive my professional growth. The program’s coursework gave me a solid understanding of the construction process and exposure to industry-standard software, and the internships I secured through the program allowed me to build my network and secure a job after graduation. Additionally, the professors’ active involvement in the local community inspired me to volunteer with App Builds a Home and Habitat for Humanity, where I experienced firsthand the significant impact that construction has on our environment and communities.”
