Gain the expertise you need in the practice and science of psychology with a Master of Arts in Psychology from App State. A master’s in psychology is your gateway to understanding psychological theory and empirical research findings related to human behavior, cognition, emotion and attitudes.

The clinical psychology concentration of App State’s Master of Arts in Psychology degree is available to admitted students in the university’s Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program in Clinical Psychology; the master’s-level Clinical Psychology degree is not a stand-alone program. As a student, you’ll learn about the many roles filled by psychologists through a curriculum emphasizing cognitive, developmental, physiological and social psychology.

Concentrations and Courses

    • Clinical Psychology

      Explore research methods and core areas of psychology, along with intelligence and personality assessment, health psychology/behavioral medicine and community psychology. This concentration is available only to admitted students in the Clinical Psychology (PsyD) program.

      Graduate Bulletin & Course Catalog

    • Psychological Science

      Develop a foundational knowledge of the core domains of psychology, as well as research methods, and gain experience in developing, conducting, evaluating and disseminating psychological studies.
