Follow your passion for helping people recognize and overcome their mental health challenges with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from App State. Our CACREP-accredited program is designed to prepare you to take the National Certified Counselor examination upon graduation.

We’ll support you as you learn more about who you are and your ability to encourage and support others as a professional counselor qualified to work in community agencies, educational settings as well as private practice.

Professional Licensure

This is a program that can lead to licensure or certification in North Carolina. Appalachian State University cannot confirm whether this program will meet the requirements for professional licensure in other states or territories.
