Rhetoric and Composition Graduate Certificate

About

Effective communicators are in high demand by employers, as are credentialed writing instructors to teach at the college level. Appalachian’s Rhetoric and Composition Certificate prepares you to teach composition and rhetoric courses in community colleges and university writing programs. Many certificate graduates continue their rhetoric and composition education in doctoral programs.

Application Essentials

Required Entrance Exam: 
GRE (score must be no more than 5 years old)
Required number of references to specify in the online form: 3

Supplemental Information: Resume (Required upload for application submission); writing sample and letter of intent (Combine and upload in one document on the Additional Information page in the online application)

Basic Conditions for Consideration of Admission: Meeting or exceeding the conditions below does NOT guarantee admission. All applications for a given entry term will be weighed based upon the number of seats available and the quality of the complete application packages.

Admission to the Certificate: Earned Master's degree from an accredited college or university or currently enrolled in a graduate program at Appalachian.
