  • AppStateALERT - All Clear
At 11:38pm on Saturday, Nov. 30, App State Police received a phone call requesting police response to New River Hall and threatening to harm residents of the residence hall. App State Police were on scene at New River Hall by 11:41pm. Police searched all levels of the interior and exterior of the building, and the surrounding areas, and confirmed the details of the call to be a hoax. Out of an abundance of caution, increased police patrols are ongoing and will continue.

Safeguard the environment

App State’s Graduate Certificate in Climate Change is designed to provide you with knowledge of the physical science basis of climate change, its societal impacts and adaptation and mitigation strategies.

You will come to understand causes and consequences of climate change, as well as find opportunities to explore potential solutions to climate change-related problems. And you will study alongside faculty and student peers who are actively engaged in research on such topics as biome change, GIS applications (viticulture; flood modeling; property valuation; visualization), globalization processes, economic development, community development, transportation and land use, precipitation climatology, mountain environments and natural hazards.

The program strengthens the interdisciplinary climate science curricular opportunities at the graduate level, preparing you to contribute to the development of informed scientific, policy and business climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.

The Climate Change Graduate Certificate is an ideal complement to App State’s Master of Arts program in Geography with a concentration in Climate Change.
